We all love free fuel! With recent FarmVille changes, free fuel is easier to come by even though it isn’t flowing freely. You can also purchase Fuel in the FarmVille Market, but farm cash is difficult to obtain and most farmers prefer to spend their farm dollars elsewhere.
You get Fuel ‘credits’ by fertilizing your neighbor’s farms. However, it seems to me that the fuel doesn’t go as far as it used to!
Many farmers prefer to save their fuel and use it sparingly. It’s nice knowing you have a Fuel Reserve waiting for you when you really need a break from all that clicking.
Having many neighbors can bring you some significant benefits. Many of these benefits are conspicuous, such as permitting you to expand your farm cheaply, but some others are more easily left out. If you really need to be successful in FarmVille, though, you’ll need to ensure that you’re getting everything you are able to out of your neighbors. Sometimes this will require a bit of effort, but it will be well worth the extra work in the long run.
Neighbors are key to increasing your XP, coins, and moving up levels!
Crop and Plot Fertilization
Of course, it’s good to both you and your neighbors if they can fertilize your crops and you are able to fertilize theirs. You get extra XP (experience points) when you harvest crops that have been fertilized, and your neighbors earn extra coins for each plot of yours they fertilize. Still, when you’re not attending to your farm for an extended time period, you might think there’s no point in plowing your fields since you can’t plant on them.
If you go this path, though, you’ll miss out on the chance to have your full farm fertilized when you return. Your neighbors can’t fertilize fallow land, but they can fertilize plowed plots even if they haven’t been planted yet. And when you do return to plant on them, your crops will be fertilized. It is important to pass this information to your neighbors. If your friends have to spend some time away from their farm, you would like to be able to earn your coins fertilizing their plots too.
Gifts
Because the game no longer directs you to the free gift page every time you log into FarmVille, it’s easy to forget to send these gifts to your friends. It is easy for your friends to forget to send gifts to you as well. Even if you don’t need the gifts that you receive, you are able to always sell them for some extra coins, so you’ll prefer to remind your neighbors to keep sending them if they’ve been ignoring this aspect of the game. The best way to prompt them to send gifts your way is to remember to send gifts to them.
Bonuses
Every time your neighbors earn a ribbon, you’ll have the chance to receive a bonus from them. Some of these bonuses are as small as 50 coins, and it may seem like more hassle than it’s worth to look through your news feed to find them all. But these small bonuses total up fast. You’ll be missing out if you don’t make use of as many as you can find.
It’s never a bad thing to have some extra coins around – you are able to even use them to buy some extra items to earn XP and level up more quickly. So to be successful in FarmVille, you need to be able to capitalize on every opportunity that’s presented to you, regardless how trivial it seems at the time.
When you first start playing FarmVille, you really have to focus on planting as many crops as you can and harvesting them as soon as they’re ready. You want to plant on as much land as possible in order to earn coins and experience points quickly. After all, that’s the only way to move up and increase your options for game play. Once you’ve gotten to some of the higher levels, however, there are a lot of things you can do with your property besides farming it. In fact, you may find that your plowed plots are becoming less and less of the focus of the farm as a whole. There’s nothing wrong with this, and in fact there are a few distinct benefits that come from shifting your emphasis away from straight farming as you level up. Okay, but where do you direct this energy then? In fact, you have several options, and each of those options has its own pros and cons. A lot of what you decide to do will have to do with your own personal preferences and priorities, but there are a few areas of interest that are worth keeping in mind.
Animals
Animals take up space and they can be somewhat tedious to collect from. Dairy farms and chicken coops have takes away a lot of these complications when it comes to cows and chickens though. Other animals may still be cumbersome to keep, but the cows and the chickens can help you create a steady income stream in no time as long as you have these structures to put them in. They make collecting easier and they take up much less space than the animals themselves would if they were left to their own devices.
Buildings
Setting some land aside to put up buildings on is also a good way to develop your farm as you level up. Not only will buildings add to the pleasing overall appearance of your property, but putting them up gets you a considerable amount of experience. Some buildings are also useful for either keeping animals (as discussed above), or for storage of excess inventory. Either way, though, making building up your farm a priority will help you level up more quickly, as well as improving the overall aesthetic quality of your property. \
Decorations
The higher the level you reach, the more options you’ll have for the decorations you can put up. You’ll also notice that new decorations will become available depending on the season or approaching holiday. Because of this, you can really alter the look of your farm with decorations depending on what mood strikes you at the time. Also, by taking advantage of the new storage buildings available, you can switch up your farm’s look by taking some items out of storage and putting others away for a later time. Plus, selling off old decorations and buying new ones is a good way to rack up some easy experience points without having to wait for the next harvesting and planting cycle.
Crop mastery is not an easy concept to grasp in Farmville. You can gain different levels of Crop Mastery in the game by planting the same crop over and over again. There are three levels of crop mastery for each type of seed that you can plant in Farmville and each level can be obtained by completing a certain number of successful harvests. Once you have reached level 10 in the game you will have access to Crop Mastery.
You will find that you get similar rewards for Crop Mastery that you do for ribbons. You get coins and XP each time you advance to a level. Once you have reached a mastery level of 3 for a certain crop, whenever you harvest that crop, a small possibility exists that the crop can turn into a Premium Crop. Your Premium Crop will look bigger than a regular crop, and you will receive XP when you harvest it, in addition to coins. Each seed will give different XP and have a different chance of turning into a premium crop.
Once you reach level 3 in crop mastery, you will get a mastery sign that you can put in your farm wherever you like. The sign is an excellent way to show off to your neighbors that you have become a master of that particular crop.
What crops are the best to work on? Your style of play and overall goals are what it depends on, just like many other things in Farmville. In order to become a successful Farmville player, you must develop crop mastery skills. Focus on a small number of crops that you can harvest over an extended period of time. It is best to master crops that give lots of coins and XP, like some of the berry plants. While blackberries are an amazing crop to master later in the game, you need to harvest it many times to get level 3 mastery. You will increase XP effectively with lush crops like pumpkins and tomatoes, so choose them first for mastery.
Whatever you choose, crop mastery is a great way to get more out of your Farmville game. Extensive patience and frequent planting is the key to becoming a master of many crops.
As anyone who spends any amount of time on FarmVille knows that there are many opportunities to post announcements to your profile. Any small accomplishment in the game will prompt you to announce your progress to all of your friends. It’s easy to see how this can quickly become annoying, both to friends who play the game and to those that do not.
However, there are times when it’s important to post announcements to your wall in order to help out fellow players. Only posting the helpful messages also will make it easier for your friends who are playing to find the bonuses you’re trying to share with them. But which messages should you post? It’s actually easier to figure out than you may think.
Sharing the Wealth
There are several times when you’ll be asked if you’d like to Share the Wealth. You’ll most commonly get this type of message when you earn a ribbon, although there are some other occasions as well. Any time you get this message though, you’ll want to post to your wall and your friends’ profiles. That’s because your friends will only be able to get the bonus celebrating your ribbon if they can see it and click on the link on their profile. Also, it doesn’t actually cost you anything to do this, so it’s a good idea to always give all your friends the opportunity to share in your success.
Help a Stray
Another time it’s good to post an announcement on your wall is when you receive the message that a stray animal has wandered onto your farm. You should always choose to help the animal find a home, but the only way to do this is to tell all of your friends that this animal is available for adoption. Most of them will be happy to have the opportunity to adopt the animals too, because they essentially get a money-maker for free. Most of the animals available this way are rare too, so these adoption messages may be the only way for your friends to get one.
Perfect Bunches
As you begin to harvest flowers, you’ll start to collect perfect bunches that you can then distribute to your friends. Of course, you only have a limited number each time, so you’ll have to post this type of announcement as well in order to enable your friends to collect your perfect bunches. Along these same lines, when you harvest eggs from your chicken coop, you’ll occasionally find some mystery eggs to share with friends. They only way to share them, though, is to post the announcement, so this is one that should go up also.
Posts to Avoid
Now that you have some idea of which announcements it’s good to post, you can probably guess which types of posts are not particularly wise or welcome. Posting status updates whenever you reach a new level, for example, is not really a good idea. It does not benefit anyone, but merely takes up space on your friends’ profiles. And essentially, that’s the best rule to follow – if your friends get something out of it, post it. If they don’t, keep it to yourself.
